My name is Sarah and I grew up with three younger brothers and no sisters. The only opportunity I had for hairstyling/braiding practice was on my dolls and barbies. As a result, I never became very proficient. When my first daughter was little, I had no idea what to do with her hair. It was so baby fine and she didn't have very much. It just seemed to slip right out of hairbands and clips so I gave up for a while. When she started school I began to try to actually do new things with her hair and figured there might be ideas online. That's when I discovered some wonderful hair blogs and we began learning all sorts of new ways to style hair. (Several hair blogs are listed on the right side of my blog.) Along the way I've figured out many tricks to pulling off hairstyles. My skills have improved and I've learned a lot.
As I've tried to imitate hairstyles on blogs, I've found that there are often tricks and tips that some of us newbies don't automatically know. Also, a lot of these moms have kids with really thick, full hair. My kids don't and so sometimes we have to change hairstyles a little to pull them off. As a result, I've finally decided to start my own blog to help share things other blogs may not cover and, of course, to have lots of fun sharing cute hairdos.
Here is a quick introduction to my daughters. My oldest daughter, starlight, still doesn't have a whole lot of hair and it's fairly fine. It tangles easily, but we keep it long because there is so much more we can do with it. My middle daughter, moonbeam, has beautiful thick, wavy hair. Hairstyles turn out beautifully on her. My youngest daughter, sunshine, is somewhere in between. She has a lot of hair for her age, but is still young enough that it is fine enough to easily slip out of things. She's the only one who has completely straight hair.
